Initial Consultation

An initial consultation with a medical practitioner includes discussion of concerns, goals, and relevant medical history to assist in determining appropriate options.

Where clinically relevant, photographs may be taken as a confidential reference for the medical record. Photographs are taken only with consent and are stored securely in accordance with privacy obligations.

Initial consultations take approximately 30 minutes.

During the consultation, the following occurs:

• Concerns and goals are discussed
• Individual suitability is assessed and available options are outlined
• Potential benefits and relevant considerations, including recovery and aftercare, are explained
• Follow-up recommendations are outlined where appropriate
• Questions are addressed

Information is provided to support informed decision-making. Treatment proceeds following discussion and informed consent.
