Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

At Dr Tass HAIR, patients on personalised treatment plans may choose to complement their care with in-clinic options. One such option is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy.

PRP is an autologous treatment that uses a small sample of your own blood. The sample is processed to concentrate platelets, which naturally contain growth factors. The platelet-rich plasma is then applied to targeted areas of the scalp via fine injections.

PRP may be considered for suitable adults who are noticing hair thinning or reduced hair density. Your clinician will discuss whether PRP is appropriate for you, explain expected benefits and risks, and outline alternative options. Individual responses vary.

*Results may vary from person to person.
What does this treatment involve?

Blood collection:
A small blood sample is taken and processed in a sterile setting to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

Scalp application:
The PRP is then applied to selected areas of the scalp using fine injections. These areas are chosen based on your pattern of thinning and clinical assessment.

Progress over time:
PRP is intended to support scalp and follicle health. Some patients notice improvements in hair quality, reduced shedding, or healthier-looking density over a series of sessions. Individual results can vary.

How many treatments are required?

Treatment frequency is personalised. Many patients begin with a short initial series of sessions, followed by review and maintenance as clinically appropriate. Your clinician will recommend a schedule based on your assessment, goals, and response to treatment, and this may be adjusted over time.
